Accepting these terms
By using FODI you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be 16 or older to create an account.
Not medical advice
FODI is a tool for tracking food, calories and nutrients. The numbers and suggestions it shows are general information, not a diagnosis, a treatment, or a prescribed diet.
Talk to a doctor or a dietitian before any significant change to your diet, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, live with a chronic condition, or take regular medication.
Do not rely on the app for an urgent medical decision, and never delay professional advice because of something it displayed.
Your account
- You sign in with your phone number, and you are responsible for protecting that number and the device tied to it.
- Your account is personal. Do not share it, sell it, or let anyone else use it.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Wrong figures produce wrong results.
- Tell us immediately if you notice unauthorised use of your account.
Plans and subscriptions
- The free plan costs nothing, and its limits are shown inside the app and on the pricing section.
- A paid subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and is managed entirely through your app store account.
- Cancelling happens in your store settings and takes effect at the end of the paid period already running.
- Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought from, not ours.
- We may change prices in future. Any change applies to renewals after we notify you, never to a period you already paid for.
Content you upload
The photos and text you upload stay yours.
By entering them you grant us a limited permission to process them for one purpose: running the service for you, meaning analysing your meal, saving your log, and answering you. We use them for nothing else and we do not publish them.
Do not upload content you have no right to upload, or content that breaks the law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to do any of the following:
- Attempt to breach the service, bypass its limits, or reach another user's data.
- Use automated tools to scrape content or overload the service with requests.
- Resell, rent, or present the service as your own.
- Reverse engineer the app, or try to extract its models or data.
- Use the service for any unlawful or harmful purpose.
Accuracy and its limits
Calorie and nutrient figures are estimates drawn from databases and automated analysis, and they shift with portion size, cooking method and the actual ingredients.
Photo analysis shows what it recognised with a confidence figure, and you edit and confirm before saving. Responsibility for the number saved in your day rests with you.
We work to keep the food database current, but we cannot guarantee it is free of error.
Service availability
We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may pause it for maintenance or development.
We may add, change or retire features. If we retire a core feature of a paid plan, we will tell you in advance.
Intellectual property
The FODI name, logo, design, interfaces and content belong to us and are protected by intellectual property law.
Using the app transfers no rights in them to you, and they may not be copied or used without written permission.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.
We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, or if your use harms the service or another user. We will tell you why whenever we can.
Limits of liability
The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that it will produce a particular result for your weight or your health.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of the service, nor for a decision you made based on information it displayed.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If a competent authority finds one clause invalid, the remaining clauses stay in force.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The last updated date at the top will change, and if a change is significant we will tell you inside the app. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
