Refund Policy

This page explains how refunds work for FODI: who handles them, what is refundable and what is not, and how to make a request step by step.

Last updatedSeptember 1, 2026

In short

  • Subscriptions are bought from the app store, and refunds are requested from that store, not from us.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. On its own it does not refund the period already running.
  • The free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund.
  • If you were charged in error or charged twice, write to us and we will follow the request with you.

What this page covers

This page covers money paid for a FODI paid subscription, whether you bought it inside the app or from the app store tied to your device.

This policy is part of the terms of use, and what those terms say about plans and subscriptions still applies alongside it.

Who handles payment and refunds

Paid subscriptions are charged and managed through the app store on your device. We never receive or store your card details, and we have no ability to return money the store collected.

So a refund request goes to the store you bought from, and is decided under that store's policy and its timings. Our role is to help you and to give the store whatever supports your request.

How to request a refund

The request is made from your store account in a few steps:

  • Open the purchase history in your store account, on the same device you bought from.
  • Select the FODI purchase, then the option to report a problem or ask for a refund.
  • State the reason clearly along with the date of the charge. A written reason shortens the review.
  • Keep the order or transaction number. We will need it if we follow the case up with you.

How long you have

Some stores allow a self service refund within 48 hours of purchase, after which the request becomes a manual review that may be accepted or declined.

Those windows and conditions are set by the store's policy, not ours, so the sooner you ask, the likelier it is to be accepted.

Cancelling is not a refund

Cancelling only stops the next renewal. The period you already paid for stays available to you until it ends, and nothing is charged after that.

If you want the money for a period already running, the request goes to the store as described above. Cancelling on its own is not enough.

Cancel well before the renewal date. A charge that lands on renewal day is hard to stop once it has happened, and turns into a refund request.

Free trials

If we offer a free trial on a plan, cancelling it before it ends prevents any charge in the first place.

If the trial ends and turns into a paid subscription, the amount charged falls under this policy like any other subscription.

Cases we follow up with you

In the following cases write to us first. We fix what can be fixed, and give the store what supports your request:

  • Duplicate charge: you were charged more than once for the same period.
  • Charged after cancelling: you cancelled before the renewal date and were still charged.
  • Purchase not unlocked: the payment went through but the plan's features did not open on your account. The first fix here is activating the subscription, not refunding it.
  • A fault on our side: a technical problem of ours kept you from using the paid features for a meaningful stretch and we could not resolve it.

What is normally not refunded

The final decision is the store's, but these are cases we do not normally support:

  • The free plan: there was no payment to begin with.
  • A period that has passed: a subscription is a service delivered day by day, and time already made available to you is not returned retroactively.
  • Not using it: not opening the app during a paid period is not on its own a reason for a refund.
  • Expecting a specific outcome: FODI is a tracking and estimation tool and promises no result for your weight or health, so a different outcome than you hoped for is not a fault in the service.

Subscriptions invoiced by us directly

If your subscription is agreed with us on a direct invoice rather than through an app store, as may happen on the coaches plan, the refund runs through us and these rules apply:

  • Within 14 days of the first invoice: a full refund if you ask for it in writing.
  • After 14 days: the period already running is not refunded, and cancelling applies to the next renewal.
  • A renewal charged within 3 days of your request: we review it and refund it if the new period has not been used.
  • How it is returned: to the same method it was paid with, within 5 to 10 business days of our approval.

What we need to help you

Write to us at info@fodi.life and include the following. Having it in the first message saves you a full day:

  • The store you bought from and the type of device.
  • The date of the charge and the amount.
  • The order or receipt number if you have it.
  • The phone number on your FODI account.
  • A short description of the reason: a duplicate charge, a subscription that did not unlock, or something else.

Response and processing time

We normally reply to refund messages within one business day.

If the request sits with the store, the time to decide it is set by that store's policy and can run to several days. If the invoice is ours directly, processing takes 5 to 10 business days from approval, and how soon it shows in your account after that is up to your bank.

Your legal rights

This policy does not reduce any right your local law gives you to cancel or to a refund. Where the law gives you a longer window or a stronger right than what is written here, the law is what applies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the last updated date at the top of the page, and the change applies to purchases made after it.
